Professor Ian Jones

NCMH Director, Principal Investigator

Professor Ian Jones is Director of NCMH, and a Professor of Perinatal Psychiatry for the Institute of Psychological Medicine and Clinical Neuroscience at Cardiff University.

Ian is also an Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. His research interests relate to bipolar spectrum disorders and in particular the relationship of mood disorders to childbirth.

Ian’s clinical interest is in the identification and management of women at high risk of severe postpartum episodes.
