Professor Mike Kerr

Professor Mike Kerr is a clinical professor at Cardiff University’s department of Psychological Medicine and Clinical Neurosciences.

Mike studied medicine in Bristol, General Practice in York, and Psychiatry in Cardiff. His clinical practice is focused on epilepsies associated with intellectual disability and in the assessment and treatment of epilepsy and psychiatric disorders.

His research covers two overlapping areas; the delivery of health care to people with a learning disability and the aetiology, epidemiology, impact and treatment of neuropsychiatric disorder associated with epilepsy.

Professor Kerr is a trustee of Epilepsy Research UK, Chair of the Advisory Board for Wales of Epilepsy Action and was recently named Epilepsy Ambassador, a prestigious international honour.
